Join Lynn for yoga classes designed for newly pregnant moms, those in their final trimester or anywhere in between. Practicing yoga may help alleviate some of the common discomforts experienced by many women during their pregnancy. Prenatal yoga can be adapted to all levels and can help you find the balance that works for you.
Each class will vary slightly with the addition of new elements as well as consistent practices each session. Moms will explore and enjoy the practice of combining breath, body and mind as they journey through their entire pregnancy and into parenthood.
Who is invited:
All expecting moms can benefit from how good yoga feels and receive the benefits of mindful breathing, stretching, releasing, strengthening and grounding during pregnancy, labor and delivery (vaginal or c-section) and beyond. Moms should consult with their health care provider regarding the individual appropriateness of beginning yoga or any new exercise program. No prior yoga experience is required.
More detail on what to expect:
This class offers an intimate interaction between breath, meditation and asana (poses) to enhance moms’ connections to their changing bodies and the miracles developing inside them. Moms are encouraged to honor how they feel in any moment and move mindfully and compassionately during their practice. You will receive detailed instruction on how to move safely and comfortably in and out of poses while connecting energetically to your baby(ies) and enjoying the safe and sacred community of other moms.
What to bring and how to prepare:
- A yoga mat if you prefer a personal one. If you’d like to borrow a mat, there will be one at the studio for you to use. All other props will be provided.
- Wear loose or stretchy clothing that allows you to move and be comfortable.
- Avoid eating a heavy meal or strong tasting foods 1-2 hours prior to the class. You are encouraged to drink water before, during and after class as needed. Bring a full water bottle or fill one at the studio.
- Arrive for class at least 10 minutes early to arrange props and settle onto your mat.

Note: Please arrive 10 minutes before class starts to collect props that we will use and comfortably settle onto your mat. Cancellations must be at least 24 hours before the class in order to receive credit for the class fee.

Lynn has been an enthusiastic and evolving yogini for more than two decades. She completed her training through Samyama Yoga Center's Dharma Path Teacher Training Program and Lotus Blossom’s Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Program. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and encouraging students to receive the benefit from a regular yoga practice. Lynn’s prenatal classes are safely sequenced for all trimesters of pregnancy and guide students to actively use their breath and quiet their mind to invite grounding and opening in yoga poses. She pays special attention to offering specific comfort measures to alleviate the common discomforts women may experience with each pregnancy. In addition, she introduces strengthening and mindfulness of lifelong body awareness that will help moms through labor, any type of delivery and beyond. Grounded in Patanjali’s eight limbs, Lynn’s classes have a foundation that inspires students to forge deeper connections to the yoga tradition. Lynn exudes positive energy and teaches with integrity, compassion and authenticity. Lynn also enjoys partnering with other yoga instructors and therapists to bring students synergistically inspired healing offered as special events and workshops.
With a degree in Sports Medicine, Lynn has been a lifelong athlete in many disciplines including running, volleyball, hiking, soccer, softball, swimming, cycling and, of course, yoga. After a successful career in Biotech Clinical Program Management, she chose a new life journey evolving around yoga and is pleased with opportunities the new direction has provided.
A dedicated mother of two, Lynn cherishes the memories of practicing yoga through both her pregnancies, with her children as toddlers and years later as they continue to grow. She currently balances precious family time with her spirit of adventure.
Leila has been a student of meditative movement since her teenage years. She took her first yoga class at the age of 16 and was immediately drawn to the silence of mind that emerged during her first shavasana (corpse pose). Being a mother of two, Leila has first hand knowledge of how your yoga practice changes during the early days of building a family. At first as it adapts and supports your changing body during pregnancy and later as it helps you recover from child birth and provide sacred space for yourself to gather strength in order to help you meet the challenges that raising a young family involves.
A current student of Shiva Rea, with whom Leila is pursuing her 500 hour Yoga Alliance Certification, Leila’s teaching style is heavily inspired by Shiva's Prana Vinyasa. It is best described as a tantrik yoga flow that emphasizes sahaja (spontaneous movement) as well as the mudras, bandhas and asanas of traditional hatha yoga. On top of her passion and knowledge of yoga, Leila has studied Qigong and spent years in the mixed martial arts world, focused mainly on Muay Thai and Taekwondo.
